The details:

 

Students need only record two contrasting pieces (unaccompanied) and learn one set piece which will be released on the 1st April. Submissions close on the 30th April and will be judged by the three flute teachers at Scherzo: Leah Munroe, Hye-Won Suh and Rebecca Grimwood.

 

Cost to enter: $10

 

Prizes:

1st Prize: Purple GIG Flute and Piccolo Bag with custom Flute cleaning cloth (Value over $250)

2nd Prize: Flute service voucher from ABI Music (Value $150)

3rd Prize: Korg OT Tuner (Value $109)

Submissions close at 5.00pm on Tuesday 30th April, 2019.

 

Fill in the form below to register and access the scores for the set pieces. Note: the set pieces will be available to view only after the competition has started on the 1st April (register to get the link).

 

Clarifications:

You may perform any two contrasting pieces you are working on - they may have a piano part but the recording only needs to have the flute part. Because of this, please skip large sections of rests in your recording.

 

Recordings can be audio only or video.

 

To submit you may choose to send your files via dropbox, google drive etc. or upload to YouTube and send us a private link. 

 

There is no timing requirement for your pieces, if you are just beginning your flute journey, your pieces may only be 20 seconds long - that's fine!

1. Tone

2. Technique & Accuracy

3. Interpretation

4. Musicianship

 

All ages and stages are encouraged to take part in this competition. There will be a set piece for the following categories:
