October 2020 School Holiday Programme Single day 9:00am-3:00pm   Participants will have the opportunity to:   * Learn about a wealth of different instruments through demonstrations * Play xylophones and marimbas, and other melodic and non-melodic percussion instruments in an Orff-based ensemble * Learn keyboard, guitar/ukulele and recorder in small groups (60 mins per day in smaller groups) * Learn basic music theory (we will cater for up to grade 5) * Improve their aural skills * Play rhythm and co-ordination games * Sing together using solfage and body percussion in multiple parts * Gain more singing confidence * Improve ensemble skills * Have fun with friends doing musical games and activities * Relax at the end of the day with some music crafts * Optional: to try Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone or Violin (extra costs apply)   Get up-close and hear the following instruments demonstrated (over the full course):   * Ukulele * Guitar * Bass Guitar * Alto Saxophone * Tenor Saxophone * Baritone Saxophone * Timpani * Xylophone * Vibraphone * Bass Drum * Drum Kit * Auxiliary percussion * Piccolo * Flute * Alto Flute * Bassoon * Keyboard * Soprano recorder * Alto recorder * Tenor recorder * Bass recorder * Irish Whistles   The course will run from 9:00am- 3:00pm. Morning tea will be provided (fruit and juice) Participants will need to bring lunch and a labelled water bottle. Drop-off available from 8.30am, late pickup available by arrangement for an additional fee.   Venue: 13 Taharoto Road, Takapuna   If we don't run the course because of Covid-19, fees will be fully refunded, or can be put towards a future holiday programme. The course can only run when we are in level 1.
